The St. Regis Mauritius Resort
On the south-westerly Le Morne Peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the dramatic Le Morne Brabant Mountain creates a spectacular backdrop for this ultra-stylish resort. Opened in november 2012, the St. Regis Mauritius takes full advantage of its stellar setting, at the edge of a deep blue lagoon lapping against the picture-perfect white sands of Le Morne Beach - no other location on the island comes close. At the heart of the resort is the imposing Manor House, with its sweeping staircases, its grand terraces, its myriad of ornate lobbies and its intricate corridors all influenced by both its local heritage and the country's colonial past. The interior décor is natural and fresh, with stone and wood finishes, hand-painted wallpapers, and abundance of artefacts maintaining the feel of a private residence rather than a hotel chain.
